We used white air dry clay to create our own rainbow fish today. We found that the clay felt quite sticky at first, but we soon discovered how quickly clay dries out when you work with it. We embedded sequins in our fish to give it a special 'rainbow sparkle'! We used the creation of our fish as stimulus for our shared experience writing today in our writing journals. Our fish have been set aside to dry and we will post photos when they have dried completely.
KP had great fun creating short animations using the Play School Art Maker iPad app this week in L3 groups. It was the first time we had used this app and we had to create a scene with Rainbow Fish and some of his friends. We went out to the hallway to record our voices, but discovered in some cases there was still quite a bit of background noise! We were very clever and did some 'app smashing' again by creating and saving this work in one app and then uploading it to another - our Seesaw Online Journal.
KP used the 'Drawing Pad' iPad app in L3 groups this morning to recreate a scene from 'The Rainbow Fish' story they have recently enjoyed. They inserted a sea background, used the sticker tool to insert two of the characters that help Rainbow Fish in this story - the starfish and the wise octopus. They then drew a beautiful rainbow fish to complete the picture. They saved their creations to the camera roll on the iPad and then uploaded their pictures to their journal on Seesaw. Well done KP!
KP loved reading 'The Rainbow Fish' by Marcus Pfister today. Please enjoy it again at home on Storyline Online.
KP made their own beautiful rainbow fish today using silver paint for the sparkling, shiny, silver scales. They also made some starfish, a character in the story that the rainbow fish turned to for help.
