We held our 'Block Olympics' today in maths today to practise addition and also revisit an important concept when comparing lengths. We worked with a partner and took turns to roll the dice. We could only add the number of blocks that we rolled on the dice. We had three minutes to see who could make the longest length of blocks. We had a practise run and then it was time for the main event! The racing online timer was set for 3 minutes and we were off! We had to work as a team and make sure we were adding the correct numbers of blocks each roll. So a lot of luck was involved depending on what number we rolled. Before we knew it the timer was ringing. We remembered from last term that to compare the lengths of our block lines we had to align them all at one end. Because we used blocks we could also count the number of blocks in each line to confirm. The winner was declared, but the result didn't matter, we shook our partner's hand and we look forward to our next event!
